Day 1: Arrival and Addis Ababa City Tour
- Arrive at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa.
Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel.
Spend the remainder of the day on a city tour visiting:
Mercato, the largest open-air market in Africa (open Monday to Saturday).
Trinity Cathedral, one of the largest Orthodox churches in Addis Ababa with baroque style, housing the tomb of Emperor Haile Selassie and his family.
St. George Church.
Mount Entoto, the former capital of Emperor Menelik II.
Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Flight to Semera and Transfer to Erta Ale
- Take breakfast and check out from the hotel.
Fly to Semera town. Complete necessary paperwork upon arrival.
Proceed to Erta Ale volcano, with a lunch stop at Afdera village, known for edible salt production fields.
After an early dinner, walk up Mount Erta Ale to see the active volcanic crater.
Enjoy photographing and walk around the rim of the crater.
Return to the campsite for dinner.
Overnight camping at Erta Ale.

Day 3: Morning at Erta Ale and Transfer to Amedela
- Early morning (optional), revisit the volcanic crater for a morning experience of the active volcano and ancient lava fields.
Return to the campsite for breakfast and pack your belongings.
Travel to Amedela, stopping at villages inhabited by the nomadic Afar people, the only people living in this harsh climate.
Amedela is a small village serving as a camping base to visit the Danakil Depression and to see camel caravans carrying salt bars from the desert to the highland regions.
Overnight camping at Amedela.

Day 4: Danakil Depression Exploration and Return to Addis Ababa
- Wake up at about 5:00 a.m.
Drive to the Danakil Depression, one of the most harsh, inhospitable, and lowest points on Earth (120 meters below sea level).
Visit the sulphuric lakes, camel caravans, salt mining fields, Lake Asale, and other notable sites.
After lunch, proceed to Semera to catch the flight back to Addis Ababa.
Enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional restaurant.
Transfer to your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
End of service.
