Itinerary

1. Day 1 – Addis Ababa City Tour

   • Pick up from your hotel or Bole International Airport and begin the tour with a visit to Trinity Cathedral, a beautiful church that houses the tomb of Emperor Haile Selassie.

   • Proceed to the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you will see “Lucy,” the oldest hominid fossil, along with historical, cultural, and archaeological artifacts. Spend about one and a half hours exploring the exhibits.

   • Continue to Mount Entoto, a historical site that was once the seat of Emperor Menelik II. Visit the old palace and the Entoto Museum.

   • After lunch, explore Merkato, the busiest and largest open-air market in Africa. Spend approximately one and a half hours discovering its vibrant atmosphere.

   • Transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

2. Day 2 – Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches

   • After an early breakfast, take a flight to Lalibela, home to the famous rock-hewn churches.

   Upon arrival, visit the first group of churches including:

   • Bête Medhanialem (House of the Saviour of the World)

   • Bête Mariam (House of St. Mary)

   • Bête Meskel (House of the Cross)

   • Bête Denagil (House of the Virgin Martyrs)

   • Bête Golgota-Michael (House of St. Michael)

   • Bête Georgis (House of St. George), which is considered part of the third group

   • Return to your hotel for lunch.

   In the afternoon, explore the second group of five churches:

   • Bête Gebriel-Raphael (House of St. Gabriel and Raphael)

   • Bête Amanuel (House of Emanuel)

   • Bête Merkoriwos (House of St. Mercorios)

   • Bête Aba Libanos (House of Father Libanos)

   • Transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.
     Overnight: Hotel in Lalibela

3. Day 3 – Return to Addis Ababa and Departure

   • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.

   • Upon arrival, continue with a city tour to visit sites not covered on Day 1.

   • In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant with cultural performances.

   • Transfer to your hotel or Bole International Airport for your departure flight.
