Itinerary

1. Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

   • Begin the day with an early morning breakfast at your hotel.

   • Depart Kampala and drive through Masaka District with several scenic stopovers.

   • Stop at the Uganda Equator for photography and brief sightseeing.

   • Visit Igongo Cultural Centre for a cultural tour of the Ankole Kigezi Museum.

   • Enjoy lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre.

   • Proceed with your journey towards Mgahinga National Park, Uganda’s smallest but wildlife-rich park.

   • Look forward to seeing mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in this beautiful landscape.

   • Arrive and check in at the safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park

   • Start with an early breakfast at the lodge.

   • Pack a lunch for the trek and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing.

   • Join your assigned trekking group and ranger guide.

   • Set out on an adventurous trek through dense forests in search of mountain gorillas.

   • Expect the trek to take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location.

   • Spend one magical hour observing and photographing the gorilla family in their natural habitat.

   • Watch the gorillas as they eat, play, and interact, creating unforgettable memories.

   • Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

3. Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

   • Begin with an early breakfast at the lodge.

   • Attend a briefing at the park headquarters before setting off on the golden monkey trek.

   • Trek through the bamboo forests with experienced guides to locate the endangered golden monkeys.

   • Spend one hour observing and photographing the playful monkeys in their natural habitat.

   • Return to the lodge for lunch and check out.

   • Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoying the scenic countryside along the way.

   • Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax for the evening with dinner and overnight stay.

4. Day 4: Game Drive in Lake Mburo and Return to Kampala

   • Wake up early for breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive.

   • Explore Lake Mburo’s rich wildlife including zebras, impalas, buffaloes, giraffes, elands, and a variety of bird species.

   • Look out for the rare and endangered shoebill stork.

   • Drive through open savannah and acacia woodlands ideal for wildlife photography.

   • Return to the lodge for lunch and check out.

   • Begin your return journey to Kampala, arriving in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
