Kolen Mountain Trek and Sacred Sites
Pick up from the hotel at 7:30 am and drive to the mountain.
En route, stop to see the beautiful paddy rice fields.
Continue walking for a bit to see the local countryside market and taste Khmer noodles in one of the most famous villages in Siem Reap.
Continue the journey and arrive at the mountain.
Start trekking up to the top of the mountain on the concrete steps, reaching the midway point to see the Spring Footing Buddha, one of the most sacred sites, where water flows from his foot all year round.
Explore more religious sites.
Keep trekking on the concrete steps to the top of the mountain.
Pass through the big jungle along a local path for 2.5 km and reach the main sites.
See the oldest carvings of Hindu Lingams on the water floor, made in 802 AD.
Keep trekking along the riverbank to see the sacred holy well.
Turn back and trek to see the biggest Reclining Buddha, dating to the 16th century AD. Be sure to climb up to the top of the big piece of stone to touch part of the Buddha, as doing so is considered good luck.
After this, walk through the local village and see more of the people's lives on top of the mountain before reaching the waterfall.
Be sure to bring your swim trunks for a swim in the water.
Eat lunch.
Return to the hotel.
