Paroikia

Paroikia is the bustling capital and main port of Paros, known for its vibrant atmosphere and historical significance. The town features a mix of Cycladic architecture with whitewashed houses, narrow streets, and colorful bougainvillea. One of its standout landmarks is the Castle of Paroikia, a medieval fortress constructed between the 8th and 13th centuries using marble from ten ancient structures. The waterfront is lined with cafes, taverns, and shops, making it an ideal place to explore both the past and present of Paros.

Panagia Ekatontapyliani

Often referred to as the Church of 100 Doors, Panagia Ekatontapyliani is a remarkable 6th-century Byzantine church and one of the most important religious monuments in Greece. It is steeped in history and legend, with its name hinting at the belief that 99 doors have been found, and the 100th will only be discovered when Constantinople becomes Greek again. The church complex includes chapels, a baptistery, and intricate mosaics, offering visitors a glimpse into its architectural grandeur and spiritual significance.

Lefkes Village

Nestled at an altitude of 300 meters, Lefkes is a traditional village known for its serene charm and stunning natural beauty. Surrounded by olive groves and pine forests, it provides breathtaking views of the neighboring Naxos Island. The village is characterized by its narrow, marble-paved streets, whitewashed houses, and local pottery shops. Lefkes also boasts cultural landmarks like the Church of Agia Triada, showcasing impressive marble carvings and Byzantine art.

Naoussa Village

Naoussa is a picturesque fishing village on the northern coast of Paros, renowned for its postcard-worthy charm. It features a small, lively harbor filled with fishing boats, surrounded by taverns offering fresh seafood and local delicacies. The village is a labyrinth of narrow, cobblestone streets, lined with whitewashed houses adorned with flowers. Naoussa also has a rich historical side, with remnants of a Venetian castle standing guard over the harbor. Its vibrant nightlife and boutique shops add a modern flair to this traditional Cycladic gem.
