The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arusha to Lake Natron and Engaresero Waterfalls

The day starts with a hearty breakfast and a briefing with your tour guide. From Arusha, drive to Lake Natron, a vast salt lake near the Kenyan border, stopping along the way to admire the scenery and spot big game.

After exploring Lake Natron, enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by local chefs. Continue to the campsite, assemble the tents, and leave the chefs to prepare dinner while heading out on an evening drive to the Engaresero waterfalls - a wonderful place to swim and relax after a long day of driving.

Then return to Lake Natron to watch the sunset and see more game. Later, head back to the hotel and enjoy a traditional Tanzanian dinner together. Dinner and overnight at L. Natron Lodge.

2
Day 02

Lake Natron Sunrise and Drive to Serengeti

Rise at 6:30 am, with fresh coffee waiting for you. Drive back to Lake Natron to watch the sunrise and catch a glimpse of the flamingos, one of Africa's most spectacular birds. Don't forget your camera.

Around 7:00 am, return to the campsite for breakfast, then pack the tents and get back on the road. The first stop is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for more game viewing.

From there, continue onto the Great Serengeti Plain, home to some of Africa's greatest biodiversity. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti campsite.

3
Day 03

Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Another early start, but it is worth it. The Serengeti is home to a staggering number of animals, with 1.6 million recorded moving through the park.

Enjoy a game drive until 1:00 pm, when you break for lunch. After eating, there is time for a little rest, perhaps even a quick nap, before heading back out onto the plains in search of more big game.

Follow the trail of the migrating wildebeest through the afternoon, then return to the campsite or hotel for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Camp Site.

4
Day 04

Southern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, head back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a vast UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in a 260 km-wide volcano crater. Archaeology buffs and anyone interested in history have the option to stop at Oldupai Gorge, where some of the earliest known human remains have been found.

The site was occupied by our genetic ancestors some two million years ago and continues to offer clues about the origin of Homo sapiens. You can also pass by a Maasai boma for a taste of real African culture and traditional living.

After lunch, continue exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, venturing right up to the rim. Dinner and overnight at Simba Camp Site.

5
Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Maasai Village Visit

After breakfast, take a packed lunch and head back to the crater. Detour through a traditional Maasai village, where you can get acquainted with the locals, watch traditional dancing, and see what life is really like on the African plains.

From there, descend to the crater floor in search of more big game. The Ngorongoro Crater is rich in Tanzanian wildlife, and November to December is the best time to see it. The short rainy season is over, and the animals come out in big numbers to enjoy the fresh water and green grass.

Eat your packed lunch on the crater floor at one of several picnic sites near Lerai Forest or Hippo Pool. If you are lucky, you may spot the rare Black Rhinoceros.

In the late afternoon, venture back up out of the crater and continue onward to Manyara National Park, where you spend the night at Manyara Camp sites.

6
Day 06

Lake Manyara Game Drive and Transfer to Tarangire

After breakfast, start at 0800 hrs with a morning game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. The park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake.

The varied ecosystem consists of groundwater forests, acacia woodland, and open grassland along the lakeshore, sustaining a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley.

It is also an ornithologists' paradise and hosts over 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Fanaka Camp site.

7
Day 07

Tarangire National Park to Arusha

Save the best for last. After breakfast, embark on your final game drive through Tarangire National Park.

African elephants - the world's biggest mammals - are very common in this area. The park is also dotted with the iconic baobab, shrub-like trees that can grow up to 30 m tall.

After a full day of exploring Tarangire, head to Arusha later in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Arusha Inn.
