Itinerary

1. Day 1: Transfer from Kigali or Kisoro to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

   • Begin your journey with a morning pick-up from your hotel or airport in Kigali, Rwanda or Kisoro, Uganda.

   • Travel through scenic countryside, passing terraced hills, rural homesteads, and the stunning Virunga volcanoes.

   • Cross the border into southwestern Uganda via Cyanika or Gatuna, depending on your route.

   • Continue your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s richest rainforests.

   • Reach either the Rushaga or Buhoma sector, based on your assigned gorilla trekking permit.

   • Check into a well-rated budget lodge located near the park.

   • Enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and relax after your journey.

   • Receive a short evening briefing to prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the next day.

2. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Return to Kigali or Kisoro

   • Wake up early and have a hot breakfast at the lodge.

   • Drive to the park headquarters for a detailed gorilla trekking briefing led by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.

   • Join a small trekking group and begin your guided trek into the dense forest, accompanied by skilled trackers and armed guides.

   • Spend one unforgettable hour with a mountain gorilla family once they are located.

   • Observe their behavior, family interactions, and natural habitat up close.

   • Return to the lodge for a rewarding lunch and some rest.

   • Begin your return transfer to Kigali or Kisoro, enjoying scenic views along the route.

   • Arrive in the evening at your drop-off point, either your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your 2-day gorilla safari.
