Itinerary

1. Day 1: Addis Ababa – Fly to Jinka – Drive to Turmi

   • Take a morning flight from Addis Ababa to Jinka.

   • Arrive at Jinka airport and meet your guide for the drive to Turmi.

   • Stop at Keyafer Thursday Market or visit a Bena tribal village along the way.

   • Arrive in Turmi in the late afternoon and check in at Emerald Lodge.

   • Visit a Hamer tribal village depending on time and mood.

   • Participate in local evening activities such as milking cows and goats, helping prepare dinner, and enjoying a traditional coffee ceremony.

   • Have dinner and overnight stay at Emerald Lodge.

2. Day 2: Visit Nyangatom Tribes – Karo Tribes – Hamer Tribes

   • Wake up early and drive to Kangatan to visit a Nyangatom village.

   • Learn about their patrilineal clan structure and agricultural lifestyle, and enjoy their storytelling and songs.

   • Continue to a Karo village located along the banks of the Omo River.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch near the river while observing the Kara people's traditional body painting and village life.

   • Return to Turmi and visit a Hamer tribal village.

   • Witness or learn about the bull jumping ceremony, a traditional Hamer rite of passage (subject to occurrence).

   • Participate in or observe the Evan Gady night dance celebration.

   • Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

3. Day 3: Dassanech Tribes – Demeka Market – Drive to Jinka

   • Begin the day with a drive to Omorate, located near the Kenyan border.

   • Cross the Omo River by local boat to reach and visit the Dassanech tribe.

   • Learn about their unique culture and way of life in a semi-arid region.

   • Return to Turmi for lunch and a short coffee break.

   • Continue the drive to Jinka with a stop at Demeka Market (Saturday only), where multiple tribes gather to trade and socialize.

   • Arrive in Jinka and check in at NASA Hotel or Jinka Resort.

   • Visit the Ari tribe in the evening, known for their blacksmithing skills and traditional lifestyle.

   • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

4. Day 4: Visit Mursi Tribe – Fly to Addis Ababa

   • Depart early in the morning for the Mursi village in Mago National Park.

   • Observe the cultural practices of the Mursi, including lip plates worn by women and body paintings by men.

   • Return to Jinka for lunch and final preparations.

   • Take the afternoon flight back to Addis Ababa (usually departs around 2:05 PM).

   • Conclude the tour upon arrival in Addis Ababa.
