Pastoruri Glacier and Puya Raimondi Full-Day Tour
- Breakfast in the morning at the hotel, then depart at 8 AM, driving south from Huaraz and passing through Recuay at 3,300 meters above sea level, Ticapampa at 3,400 meters above sea level, and Catac at 3,500 meters above sea level.
- Continue to Pachacuti on an unpaved road through a wonderful highland landscape full of ichu grass and cold winds, traditionally inhabited by sheep herders.
- After 15 km, stop at the small lake of Pumacocha for birdwatching, where you can see wild ducks, Andean geese, caracara birds, and others.
- Next, stop at the carbonated water stream to taste its drinkable sparkling water.
- Continue to the next stop to see the enormous flowers of Puya Raimondi and the small color-changing lake at Pumapampa, created by the effect of sunlight and the minerals contained in the rocky water.
- Continue to the petroglyph paintings, and after approximately 10 minutes, arrive at the Pastoruri parking area.
- Walk about 1 km, with the option to hike easily or go on horseback to reach the snow-capped mountain of Pastoruri.
- Once here, enjoy walking around and visiting the Ice Lake and Ice Cave.
- After spending a few hours in Pastoruri, return by the same route and drive directly back to Huaraz, arriving around 6 PM.
