• In the morning, climb Sigiriya Rock. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. Sigiriya is now a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site and is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka.

• Visit Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. A World Heritage Site since 1991, it is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

• After touring Dambulla Cave Temple, drive to Kandy.

• On the way, visit the Spice Garden, and in the evening watch the Cultural Show, an event geared towards tourists in Sri Lanka.

• Visit the Tooth Temple in the morning. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha.

• Head to the Botanical Garden in Peradeniya. It is renowned for its collection of a wide variety of orchids. It includes more than 4,000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka.

• After the Botanical Garden, go shopping in Kandy City, and then drive to Kitulgala to spend the night there.

• Go water rafting in the morning at Kitulgala.

• Drive to Nuwara Eliya, known for its temperate, cool climate. The city is, in fact, the coolest area in Sri Lanka.

Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

• In the morning at 9:30 am, begin the train trip from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, which takes about 3 hours.

• At 5:30 am, go on the Yala safari and then drive to Bentota.

• On the way, visit Hummanaya Blow Hole and Galle Fort.
