Continue to the Blue Mosque, a 17th-century AD mosque and a masterpiece of Turkish Islamic architecture. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for the excellent blue tiles that give the mosque its name.
Then visit Hagia Sophia, built in the 6th century as a church during the Justinian era and converted into a mosque by the Turks in the 15th century AD. It later served as a museum for admirers and has recently been converted back into a mosque. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Finally, explore Topkapı Palace, the residential and administrative center of the Ottoman sultans. It houses many of the sultans' costumes, thrones, treasures, holy relics, porcelains, and tiles, and offers a great view of the Bosphorus. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
