Day 01

Arrival in Paro and Scenic Drive to Thimphu

  • Arrive at Paro Airport and meet your guide.
  • Drive to Thimphu Valley, enjoying the scenic route.

  • Halt at Tachogang Lhakhang, Bhutan's first Iron Bridge.

  • Spend the evening strolling around Thimphu Clock Tower Square and the town center.

Thimphu Cultural Landmarks and Local Markets

  • Visit Buddha Point to see the majestic 51.5-meter-tall Buddha Dordenma statue.
  • Explore the National Memorial Chorten, a revered site for prayer and reflection.

  • Optionally visit Simply Bhutan, a living museum showcasing traditional Bhutanese culture.

  • Stop by the Mini Zoo to see the takin, Bhutan's national animal.

Dochula Pass, Gangtey Monastery and Phobjikha Valley

  • Drive to Phobjikha Valley via Dochula Pass (3,150 m). Weather permitting, enjoy Himalayan mountain views.
  • Visit Gangtey Monastery, an important Nyingma sect Buddhist monastery perched on a hilltop.

  • Take a short hike between Gangtey and Phobjikha Valley.

  • Optionally visit the Crane Information Center to learn about the endangered Black-necked Cranes.

Punakha Valley Hike, Dzong and Suspension Bridge

  • Drive back to Paro.

  • Visit Paro Museum (Ta Dzong) to see Bhutanese art and artifacts.

Tiger's Nest Hike and Paro Exploration

  • Start early with breakfast and drive to the Tiger Nest monastery trailhead (7 AM).

  • Optionally visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples, built in the 7th century.

  • Alcoholic beverages, personal shopping, and tips for the guide and driver are not included.

  • Any extra sightseeing or additional vehicle usage beyond the itinerary is not provided.

  • Costs arising from natural calamities such as landslides, road blockages, or political disturbances must be borne by the client and paid directly on site.

  • Items or services not listed under inclusions are not covered in the cost.

  • Cancellation fees apply according to Tourism Council of Bhutan and hotel policies.
