Description

Experience an exhilarating 2-day Mount Rinjani trek starting from Senaru. Hike through open savanna and ascend to the stunning Sembalun Crater Rim while enjoying spectacular views. Witness a breathtaking sunrise from the summit at 3,726 meters, capturing panoramic vistas of Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa. Benefit from expert guidance, comfortable camping overnight, and seamless transfers throughout Lombok.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Trek to Sembalun Crater Rim
- Pick up from anywhere in Lombok (Airport, Mataram, Senggigi, Kuta, Tetebatu, or Bangsal Harbor).
- Transfer to Senaru village and check in to accommodation.
- Meet your guide for trek briefing and equipment check.
- Enjoy dinner and rest.
- Have breakfast at the homestay in Senaru at 06:30 AM.
- Transfer to Sembalun (30 minutes by car).
- Register at the Rinjani National Park office at 07:30 AM.
- Begin trekking through open savanna at 08:00 AM.
- Trek through Pos 1 (1,300m) and Pos 2 (1,500m).
- Take lunch break at Pos 2.
- Continue ascent via Pos 3 (1,800m) to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m).
- Arrive at campsite by 05:00 PM.
- Enjoy sunset views over Mount Rinjani and Segara Anak Lake.
Have dinner and overnight in tents.
Day 2: Summit and Descent
- Wake up at 02:00 AM for light breakfast and start summit push.
- Reach the summit of Mount Rinjani (3,726m) by 05:30 AM.
- Take photos and enjoy panoramic views of Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa.
- Descend back to crater rim for full breakfast.
- Continue descent back to Sembalun village over 5 to 6 hours.
- Have lunch and rest in Sembalun between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
- Transfer back to Senaru.
- Drop off at next destination in Lombok.

Know Before You Go

Require good physical fitness due to fast-paced and physically demanding trek.

Expect long-distance hiking of 8 to 10 hours per day with steep ascents.

Set minimum age at 10 years. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Prepare for altitude of 3,726 meters at summit with night temperatures dropping below 5°C (41°F).

Attend detailed pre-trek briefing and equipment check in Senaru before starting.

Stay in a basic guesthouse in Senaru before trek and camp in tents on the mountain.

Receive all meals during the trek with vegetarian options available upon request.

Use porter system where porters carry camping gear, food, and water. Carry personal backpack of 5 to 7 kg.

Follow park regulations forbidding smoking, littering, and open fires. Practice Leave No Trace principles.

Obtain personal travel insurance covering trekking up to 4,000 meters.

Plan trek between April and December as park closes from January to March for rainy season.
