Day 1 – Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
- Elevation: 1,830 m (6,004 ft) to 2,700 m (8,858 ft)

Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Terrain: Rainforest
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Depart from Moshi for a scenic 1-hour drive to the Marangu Gate.
Complete necessary registration formalities upon arrival.
Begin the trek through lush rainforest, with opportunities to spot monkeys and other wildlife.
Arrive at Mandara Hut for a warm meal and overnight accommodation in A-frame huts.
Optional evening acclimatization hike to Maundi Crater for panoramic views and altitude adjustment.

Day 2 – Mandara to Horombo Hut

Terrain: Rainforest, transitioning to moorland
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Begin the hike from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut, crossing a variety of landscapes.
Gradually ascend through moorland with expansive views of the surrounding area.
Arrive at Horombo Hut for a hearty meal and overnight accommodation.

Day 3 – Acclimatization Day at Horombo
Elevation: 3,720 m (12,205 ft) (Stay)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Spend an extra day at Horombo Hut to allow the body time to acclimatize to the higher altitude.
Option 1: Rest and relax at Horombo Hut, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Option 2: Acclimatization hike to Zebra Rocks at 3,980 m (13,058 ft) for stunning views and further altitude adjustment.
Return to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved meal and rest.

Day 4 – Horombo to Kibo Hut
- Elevation: 3,720 m (12,205 ft) to 4,703 m (15,430 ft)
Hiking Distance: 10 km (6.2 miles)
Hiking Time: 6-8 hours
Terrain: Lunar desert (The Saddle)
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Begin the trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut, crossing the barren lunar landscape known as "The Saddle."
Experience vast, rugged terrain with stunning views of the towering peaks.
Arrive at Kibo Hut, enjoy an early dinner, and rest in preparation for the summit attempt.
Evening briefing by the guide to prepare for the night ascent.

Day 5 – Kibo to Uhuru Peak & down to Horombo
- Elevation: 4,700 m (15,430 ft) to 5,895 m (19,341 ft) and down to 3,720 m (12,205 ft)
Hiking Distance: 22 km (13.7 miles)
Hiking Time: 8-12 hours
Terrain: High-altitude desert and rocky terrain
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Begin the final ascent at midnight toward Uhuru Peak.
Trek to Gillman’s Point at 5,685 meters (18,652 feet), then continue to Uhuru Peak.
Celebrate the achievement at the summit with breathtaking views and sunrise, weather permitting.
Descend to Kibo Hut for a brief rest and meal.
Continue the descent to Horombo Hut for the night.

Day 6 – Horombo to Marangu Gate
- Elevation: 3,720 m (12,205 ft) to 1,870 m (6,135 ft)
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
Distance: 20 km (12.4 miles)
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch Included
Begin the descent through moorland and rainforest, reflecting on the journey.
Arrive at Marangu Gate where the Great Time Experience (GTE) team will be waiting for a medal ceremony.
Receive the summit certificate and transfer back to your hotel in Moshi.
