Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

   • Depart from Arusha after breakfast, approximately 8:00 AM, for a scenic drive southwest to Tarangire National Park, about 2-3 hours away.

   • Arrive in Tarangire and embark on an afternoon game drive. Spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, and predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

   • Check in to your lodge or tented camp within or near the park. Enjoy dinner and relax to the sounds of the African bush.

2. Day 2: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   • Start the day with a final morning game drive in Tarangire, exploring areas not yet covered or focusing on specific wildlife.

   • Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Take in stunning panoramic views of the landscape.

   • Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater rim in the late afternoon, enjoying a first breathtaking view of this natural wonder.

   • Check in to your lodge or campsite on the crater rim or in Karatu. Enjoy dinner with incredible views and prepare for the following day's crater descent.

3. Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

   • After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing.

   • Spend the day exploring the crater floor, spotting the Big Five and other wildlife like zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, hyenas, and various bird species around Lake Magadi.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater.

   • Ascend back to the crater rim or return to Karatu for dinner and overnight accommodation.

4. Day 4: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

   • After breakfast, depart from Ngorongoro and drive toward Serengeti National Park (approximately 3-4 hours).

   • Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and witness the transition to the vast, open plains of the Serengeti.

   • Arrive in the Serengeti and embark on an introductory game drive, spotting resident wildlife like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and elephants, or witnessing the Great Migration (depending on the time of year).

   • Check in to your lodge or tented camp in the central Serengeti. Enjoy dinner and relax to the sounds of the Serengeti night.

5. Day 5: Serengeti National Park

   • Embark on an early morning game drive, the best time to spot predators. Witness the stunning Serengeti sunrise.

   • Spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon on a game drive, exploring the park's incredible biodiversity.

   Depending on your departure plans

   • Fly back to Arusha: Transfer to a local airstrip for a domestic flight back to Arusha, enjoying aerial views of the Serengeti. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel or onward destination.

   • Drive back to Arusha: Embark on a scenic 6-8 hour drive back to Arusha, taking in the Tanzanian landscape. Arrive in Arusha by late afternoon or evening.
