Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

   • Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park (approximately 2-3 hours).

   • Enjoy a full-day game drive in Tarangire, famous for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and diverse wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope.

   Stay overnight in a lodge or tented camp inside or near Tarangire.

2. Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

   • After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approximately 2-3 hours).

   • Enjoy a game drive in Lake Manyara, known for its tree-climbing lions (though sightings can be elusive), large flocks of flamingos on the lake, and diverse habitats, including groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and grassy plains.

   Stay overnight in a lodge or tented camp near Lake Manyara or in the Karatu area.

3. Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

   • After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approximately 1-2 hours).

   • Descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. The crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a natural wonder teeming with wildlife, including the "Big Five," within its caldera.

   Stay overnight in a lodge or tented camp on the crater rim or in the Karatu area.

4. Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti)

   • After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti National Park (driving time varies depending on your chosen route and entry gate, approximately 3-4 hours to the central Serengeti). You might have a short game drive en route.

   • Enjoy afternoon and full-day game drives in the central Serengeti. This area is known for its resident wildlife populations, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and a variety of plains game.

   Stay overnight in lodges or tented camps in the central Serengeti.

5. Day 5: Serengeti National Park

   • After breakfast, enjoy another full-day game drive in the Serengeti. Explore various areas of the central Serengeti, known for abundant resident wildlife, including large lion prides, leopards, and cheetahs.

   • Return to your accommodation for an evening of relaxation and dinner.

   Stay overnight in the central Serengeti.

6. Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Migration or Other Areas)

   • Depending on the time of year and the location of the Great Wildebeest Migration, explore different areas of the Serengeti. Your guide will tailor the day to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities.

   • Visit areas such as the southern plains (calving season, roughly January-March), the Western Corridor (Grumeti River crossings, roughly May-July), or the northern Serengeti (Mara River crossings, roughly August-October).

   Stay overnight in a lodge or tented camp in the Serengeti region.

7. Day 7: Serengeti to Arusha

   • Enjoy a final early morning game drive in the Serengeti.

   • After breakfast, take a scenic flight from one of the Serengeti's airstrips back to Arusha (approximately 1 hour), saving significant driving time.

   • Alternatively, opt for a full-day drive back to Arusha (approximately 6-8 hours).

   • Upon arrival in Arusha, transfer to your hotel or the airport, concluding your 7-day safari.
