Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha National Park

   • Depart early in the morning from your accommodation in Arusha.

   • Drive approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach Arusha National Park.

   • Begin a game drive through the park's varied landscapes, including rainforest, woodlands, and lakes.

   • Observe primates such as black and white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys.

   • Spot herbivores including giraffes, zebras, bushbucks, and waterbucks.

   • Look for birdlife around the Momella Lakes, which may include flamingos and other species among the 400 recorded in the park.

   • Join a guided walking safari with an armed ranger to experience wildlife up close.

   • Participate in a canoeing activity on the Momella Lakes to view aquatic birds and possibly buffaloes or hippos along the shoreline.

   • Visit the rim of the Ngurdoto Crater and enjoy panoramic views and possible wildlife sightings.

   • See the unique Fig Tree Arch, large enough for a safari vehicle to pass through.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area within the park.

   • Continue with additional game viewing or optional activities in the afternoon.

   • Drive to your chosen lodge or camp near or inside Tarangire National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Tarangire National Park

   • Wake early and enjoy breakfast at your accommodation.

   • Enter Tarangire National Park and begin a full-day game drive.

   • Explore the park's landscapes, including its famous baobab trees and the Tarangire River.

   • Observe large herds of elephants, which are a signature feature of the park.

   • Look for other wildlife such as wildebeest, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, and predators including lions, leopards, and possibly cheetahs.

   • Watch for unique species such as fringe-eared oryx and greater kudu.

   • Spot various bird species among the more than 550 that inhabit the park.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location inside the park.

   • Continue with an afternoon game drive to explore more areas and track wildlife movement.

   • Participate in optional activities if pre-arranged, such as a hot air balloon safari, night game drive, walking safari, or cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village.

   • Begin your return journey to Arusha in the late afternoon.

   • Arrive back in Arusha in the evening, where the safari concludes.
