Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam - Transfer to Selous

   • Meet your guide at the airport or your hotel in Dar es Salaam.

   • After a short briefing, begin your journey to Selous Game Reserve.

   • Enjoy a scenic drive through rural villages and landscapes.

   • Upon arrival, check in at your lodge or camp.

   • Depending on your arrival time, you may have the option to enjoy a late afternoon boat safari along the Rufiji River.

2. Day 2: Full Day Game Drive at Selous

   • After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in the vast wilderness of Selous.

   • The park is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wild dogs, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by nature.

   • Continue exploring different areas of the park, including woodlands, open plains, and riverine habitats.

   • In the late afternoon, return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

3. Day 3: Transfer from Selous to Mikumi National Park

   • After breakfast, depart from Selous and begin your journey towards Mikumi National Park.

   • Arrive in Mikumi in the afternoon and check in at your lodge or camp.

   • If time allows, enjoy a short evening game drive in Mikumi, well known for its open horizons and large populations of elephants, antelopes, lions, and more.

4. Day 4: Transfer to Ruaha National Park

   • After an early breakfast, depart Mikumi and drive to Ruaha National Park.

   • Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park and one of the most remote and wild.

   • The journey takes you through the Southern Highlands, with opportunities to enjoy scenic views and cultural encounters along the way.

   • Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some rest.

   • In the late afternoon, head out for a game drive in Ruaha, known for its rugged landscapes, baobab trees, and high concentrations of predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as large herds of elephants and buffaloes.

5. Day 5: Full Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

   • After an early breakfast, depart for a full day game drive in Ruaha National Park.

   • This day is dedicated to exploring different parts of the park, known for its dramatic landscapes, great predators, and vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, kudus, and other antelopes.

   • The Great Ruaha River, which runs along the park’s eastern boundary, attracts a variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season.

   • Enjoy incredible sightings and photographic opportunities.

   • Take a packed lunch in the bush and continue your exploration into the afternoon.

   • Return to your lodge or camp to relax and enjoy dinner under the stars.

6. Day 6: Full Day Game Drive in Ruaha National Park

   • After an early breakfast, continue exploring Ruaha National Park.

   • Return to your lodge or camp to unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner.

7. Day 7: Transfer Back to Dar es Salaam

   • After an early breakfast, depart Ruaha for your journey back to Dar es Salaam.

   • Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, your guide will drop you off at your hotel or airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Southern Tanzania safari experience.
