Walk Through the Historic Buda Castle District
- Our tour will start at the statue of Pope Ince XI in Hess András Square, where we will begin with a short journey back in time to the former royal seat of Buda.
- We will then take a tour of Matthias Church and its surroundings, and of course walk to the Fisherman's Bastion, one of the most popular photo points in the city. From here, you can see not only the Danube and the Parliament, but also other famous sights of the city.
- During our walk, we will pass through Szentháromság Square and the romantic little streets of Girbegurba, and then we will reach the Tóth Árpád promenade, where we will enjoy an unrivalled view of Buda.
- We'll also discuss Buda's legends, Turkish heritage, one of the oldest confectionery shops on the Buda side, the Ruszwurm, and the secret tunnel system in the belly of Castle Hill.
- We also pass the most important public buildings of the Castle District and the station of the Sikló before arriving at the grandiose Palace of Buda. Here, you will find the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum, and from the palace's terrace, you can enjoy the view of the river below and the Pest side.
- At the end of the tour, we will walk down from the Castle through the Castle Garden Bazaar and finish our walk on Ybl Miklós Square. From here, you can easily reach the countless tram and bus lines, or continue exploring the city with a pleasant walk along the Danube.
