Join me for one of Kraków's most beautiful walks along the historic Royal Route, traditionally used by Polish kings for processions and official ceremonies. Stretching from the Barbican to Wawel Castle, the former residence of Polish monarchs, this route is lined with beautifully preserved historic buildings in a variety of architectural styles that reflect the city's rich history. Along the way, you will encounter grand townhouses, elegant palaces, charming cafés, and some of Kraków's most picturesque spots for beautiful photos.

During our walk, you will see Kraków's highlights from the outside: St Florian's Church, the Barbican, St Florian's Gate, Planty Park, Floriańska Street, the largest square in Europe - the Main Market Square, the Cloth Hall - Sukiennice, St Adalbert's Church, St Mary's Church, the houses around the Main Market Square, Grodzka Street, the oldest and narrowest Kanonicza Street, and Wawel Hill with the Royal Castle and Royal Cathedral.

The itinerary

Day 01

Kraków's Royal Route and Wawel Hill

We will start our tour at Matejko Square.
We will pass through Planty Park and walk along Floriańska Street to the Main Market Square, where we will make a comfort stop.
After that, we will continue down Grodzka Street towards Wawel Hill, home to the Royal Castle, the seat of Polish kings and queens, and the Royal Cathedral. You will also see where Kraków's dragon used to live.
