- After the story about maraska cherries and maraschino follows the tasting of the liqueur or the juice.

- On the central square of the city a small surprise awaits you !
Farmers Market
- Farmers Market is a central place of the Old Town where we will taste localy grown organic fruits and vegetables toghether with the most famous cheese of Croatia.
Kalelarga
- Kalelarga is the main street of Zadar where one can feel the pulse of the city.
Roman Forum Square
- On this square we will step back in time and hear the story why it was the most popular meeting point of the city trought the centuries.
St. Mary`s Church and Convent
- Here you will listen to the story about keepres of Zadar`s gold and silver

Know Before You Go

Zadar is among the oldest cities of Croatia with the history dating back to 900 BC. Old Town is situated on a small peninsula which is partitially surrounded with the 16th and 17th century city walls that have been part of UNESCO World`s Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The city has been the capital of the Dalmatian Region for many centuries and it was ruled by numerous foreigers - Venetians, Austrians and Frenchman who all left deep traces in the architecture, local speach, customs, traditions and gastronomy of the area. In Zadar one will find many interesting historic sights and various museums. Today the city is most famous for its two modern attractions that are standing on the Seafront Promenade - the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun.

The tour starts from the Five Wells Square, historic place where one can feel the long history of Zadar and make some memorable photos from one of the best photo points in the Old Town. It proceedes further with the story of Maraschino cherry liqueur and its long-lasting production in Zadar which is followed by Maraschino liqueur tasting is a local bar. Tour leads on the central square where one small surprise awaits you and then to the Farmers Market, central place of Zadar local lifestlye.

On the Market we are visiting Cheese and Deli Shop where we will taste the most famous cheese of Croatia produced by cheesmakers family Gligora. After cheese tasting we will take a stroll around the Farmers Market to see the daily offer and to try some of the local fruits and vegetables such as maraska cherries, figs, jujubes, local grapes, apricots, old authentic varieties of tomatoes, etc.(fruits and vegetables choice depends on a season).

From the Market the tour leads us towards the main street and ruins of the Roman Forum square where we will hear the interesting stories about most famous people in the history of the city and their legacy. We will also find out who were the keepers of Zadar`s gold and silver and what was the true purpose of the collumn of shame. The tour finishes with wine and food tasting in a local wine bar. Tasting includes three wines produced by Degarra Winery from Zadar (rose, white and red wine), platter of cheeses, prosciutto, nuts and bread.
