Day 01
Hidden Villages and Polder Landscapes of Noord-Holland
Provisional timing (can be updated based on your request).
- 10:00 - Pick-up from Amsterdam or your hotel.
- Meet your English-speaking driver-guide and set off in a comfortable private car.
- 10:30 - Visit Broek in Waterland.
- Stroll through one of the most picturesque villages in the country, with wooden houses, quiet canals, and cobbled lanes.
- 11:30 - Explore De Rijp.
- Wander through this historic town, known for its gabled houses, drawbridges, and former herring industry. Learn about Dutch land reclamation and dike systems.
- 12:30 - Local cheese farm or tasting stop (optional).
- Stop at a small countryside cheese farm for a tasting and explanation of Dutch dairy traditions. There will also be an opportunity to shop for local products.
- 13:30 - Discover Monnickendam's historic harbour.
- Walk through the harbour, enjoy views of classic boats, and learn about the maritime history of the region. An optional cafe break by the water is also possible.
- 14:30 - Scenic drive through polder landscapes.
- Enjoy a relaxing countryside drive through fields, grazing cows, windmills, and water channels - perfect for photos.
- 16:00 - Drop-off back at your hotel or original location.
