Orthodox Christianity is practiced in Georgia, so visitors are expected to adhere to specific dress codes when entering churches.
Trousers, shorts, short skirts, and bare shoulders are prohibited.
It is recommended that women wear long skirts or wrap a large scarf around themselves.
Many churches provide wraparound dresses to borrow.
Women must cover their heads with a scarf upon entering a church.
It is advisable to carry one or two scarves for hassle-free entry into churches.
Men are not permitted to wear shorts or expose bare shoulders.
Full-length trousers and covered shoulders are required.
