Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival Day

   • Transfer from Airport/Hotel: Pick up from either Dar es Salaam or Arusha.

   • Arrival & Check-In: Arrive and check-in at your chosen accommodation facility.

   • Program Briefing: Your guide will provide a detailed briefing of the full program.

   Accommodation: Hotel/Lodge
   Meals: Full Board (FB)

2. Day 2: Magamba Rainforest Trek

   Trekking Distance: Approx. 13 km / 5-6 hours

   • After breakfast, depart from the hotel and begin your trek with a packed lunch.

   • Trek uphill through the villages to the Magamba rainforest, home to black and white Columbus monkeys and two-horned chameleons.

   • Enjoy a scenic lunch at Magamba village.

   • After lunch, continue trekking inside the forest, then catch a public bus to Rangwi Sister’s Convent.

   Accommodation: Rangwi Sister’s Convent (basic, neat, with shared toilets)

   Meals: Full Board (FB)

3. Day 3: Mtae View Point and Pottery Workshop

   Trekking Distance: Approx. 14 km / 6-7 hours

   • Trek through villages and head to the pottery village for a workshop.

   • Continue trekking along the escarpment of the Usambara Mountains to the Mtae viewpoint.

   • Enjoy a world-class 180-degree view of Tsavo West (Kenya) and Kilimanjaro.

   • Have lunch with the Ernest family, known for serving the best meals.

   • Visit the pottery workshop and learn the art of making pots from clay soil.

   • Continue hiking through the escarpment with scenic views of the plains.

   • Check in at Magumba Cottages, one of the best accommodations in the mountains.

4. Day 4: Departure

   • Early Morning Drive: Drive to Lushoto (63 km).

   Departure Options

   • From Lushoto, depart for Dar es Salaam, Tanga, or opt for an adventurous safari in Moshi or Arusha.
