Itinerary

Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Elephants & Baobabs
- Location: Tarangire National Park
- Drive Time: ~2 hours from Arusha
Stay: Tarangire Safari Lodge
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
- Highlights: Head to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. Have a picnic lunch within the park before continuing the wildlife adventure overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park – Into the Wild
- Location: Central Serengeti
- Drive Time: ~4.5 hours via Ngorongoro Highlands
Stay: Serengeti Heritage Camp

Tanzania has a malaria risk, so ensure you’ve taken preventive medication before your trip.

Vaccinations: It’s recommended to get vaccinated for yellow fever (required for entry) and typhoid. Please consult your doctor.

Health Insurance: Make sure your travel insurance covers medical evacuation in case of emergencies.

Stay in the vehicle during game drives unless you are at a designated safe spot.

Do not feed animals. Interacting with wildlife can disrupt their natural behavior.

Be patient while watching wildlife—safaris require quiet and stillness to have the best experiences.

Listen to your guide: They will share important information and make sure you are safe.

Dry Season (June to October) is the best time for wildlife viewing, but it can be crowded.

Wet Season (March to May) offers fewer tourists and lush green landscapes, but some roads may be harder to navigate.

Pack layers: Temperatures can range from cool mornings/evenings to hot afternoons, so be prepared for varying conditions.

Accommodations vary in luxury or mid-range options (depending on the package you choose). All meals are typically provided, but it's a good idea to inform the operator of dietary restrictions ahead of time.

Wi-Fi may be limited in remote safari lodges, so don’t rely on it for staying connected.

Use a zoom lens (200mm or higher) for capturing wildlife from a distance.

Golden Hour (sunrise and sunset) provides the best lighting for photographs, especially for animals in the wild.

Be respectful when taking pictures of local communities (such as the Maasai). Ask for permission before taking photos.

While US dollars are widely accepted, it’s always best to carry some Tanzanian shillings for local purchases.

Tipping is appreciated: Guides typically receive $15–$20 per day per person, and lodge staff appreciate small tips.
