Itinerary

Day 1- Arrival in Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania
- Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
- Accommodation: River House Lodge
- Meals: Dinner
- Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to River House Lodge for a relaxing evening. After dinner, your guide will provide a safari briefing, preparing you for the exciting days ahead.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Land of Giants
- Drive Time: ~2 hours from Arusha
- Accommodation: Tarangire Safari Lodge
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Explore Tarangire National Park, home to elephants, baobab trees, and abundant wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and continue the afternoon safari, spotting lions, giraffes, and zebras.
Day 3: Lake Manyara & Cultural Experience
- Drive Time: ~1.5 hours from Tarangire
- Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
- Discover Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. Optional cultural experience at Mto wa Mbu village for a deeper insight into Maasai culture ($30).
Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Into the Wild

Know Before You Go

Safety & Health:

Tanzania has a malaria risk, so ensure you’ve taken preventive medication before your trip.

Vaccinations: It’s recommended to get vaccinated for yellow fever (required for entry) and typhoid. Please consult your doctor.

Safari Etiquette & Wildlife Viewing:

Stay in the vehicle during game drives unless you are at a designated safe spot.

Do not feed animals. Interacting with wildlife can disrupt their natural behavior.

Respect the environment by leaving no trace (don’t litter, stay on marked roads).

Be patient while watching wildlife—safaris require quiet and stillness to have the best experiences.

Listen to your guide: They will share important information and make sure you’re safe.

Weather & Timing:

Dry Season (June to October) is the best time for wildlife viewing, but it can be crowded.

Wet Season (March to May) offers fewer tourists and lush green landscapes, but some roads may be harder to navigate.

Pack layers: Temperatures can range from cool mornings/evenings to hot afternoons, so be prepared for varying conditions.

Accommodation & Meals:

Accommodations vary in luxury or mid-range options (depending on the package you choose). All meals are typically provided, but it's a good idea to inform the operator of dietary restrictions ahead of time.

Wi-Fi may be limited in remote safari lodges, so don’t rely on it for staying connected.

Photography Tips:

Use a zoom lens (200mm or higher) for capturing wildlife from a distance.

Golden Hour (sunrise and sunset) provides the best lighting for photographs, especially for animals in the wild.

Be respectful when taking pictures of local communities (such as the Maasai). Ask for permission before taking photos.

Currency & Tipping:

While US dollars are widely accepted, it’s always best to carry some Tanzanian shillings for local purchases.

Tipping is appreciated: Guides typically receive $15–$20 per day per person, and lodge staff appreciate small tips.
