Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha National Park - Mount Meru's Shadow

   Morning

   • Depart from Arusha town and head to Arusha National Park.
   • This park, though smaller, is incredibly diverse. You'll likely see black and white colobus monkeys, giraffes, zebras, and bushbucks.
   • Enjoy a walking safari, an excellent opportunity to experience the park's unique atmosphere and get closer to nature (with an armed ranger).
   • Visit the Momela Lakes, known for their flamingo populations and other waterbirds.

   Afternoon

   • Game drive through the park, taking in the views of Mount Meru.
   • Possible visit to the Tululusia waterfalls.
   • Overnight stay at a lodge or campsite near Arusha National Park.

2. Day 2: Tarangire National Park - Elephant Haven

   Morning

   • Depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park.
   • Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, especially during the dry season (June to October).
   • Enjoy an afternoon game drive, focusing on the Tarangire River, which attracts a wide variety of wildlife.
   • Expect to see many baobab trees, that make this park so unique.

   Afternoon

   • Continue the game drive.
   • Overnight stay at a lodge or campsite within or near Tarangire National Park.

3. Day 3: Tarangire Game drive and Return to Arusha

   Morning

   • Early morning game drive in Tarangire, when animals are most active.
   • This is the best time to see predators.
   • Enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the Tarangire landscape.

   Afternoon

   • Another game drive, or a leisurely breakfast, depending on your flight schedule.
   • Depart from Tarangire and drive back to Arusha.
   • Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
