Day 01

Fly from Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park

Early morning pick-up from your hotel at 5:00 AM and transfer to the airport for your flight to Arusha.
Upon arrival in Arusha, drive to Tarangire National Park.
Enjoy packed lunches and embark on exciting game drives to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and iconic baobab trees.
Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner.
Spend the night at the lodge.

Day 02

Full-Day Safari in Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy breakfast at Farm of Dreams Lodge, then depart for Ngorongoro Crater, approximately a 2.5-hour drive away.
Set out on a full-day game drive inside the crater, spotting Africa's Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos.
Stop for a picnic lunch at the Ngoitoktok picnic site, with views of Hippo Lake.
Continue with afternoon game drives to explore the crater's diverse landscapes and wildlife.
Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 03

Hadzabe Cultural Immersion at Lake Eyasi

Depart early at 5:00 AM for Lake Eyasi for a cultural immersion experience with the Hadzabe tribe.
Participate in traditional hunting and gathering activities while learning about the Hadzabe's way of life.
Experience cultural rituals such as fire-making, dancing, and singing.
Return to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.

What to bring

Neutral-colored clothing: Safari clothing should generally be in neutral colors like khaki, brown, beige, or olive green. These colors help blend in with the natural surroundings and avoid attracting attention from animals, especially predators. Bright colors, especially reds and blues, can disturb wildlife and make animals more cautious or curious, potentially disrupting the experience.
Comfortable, lightweight layers: Since temperatures can vary greatly during a safari, layering is key.
Morning and evening: It can be quite chilly, so it's important to pack a light long-sleeve shirt or jacket.
Midday: Temperatures can rise significantly, so lighter clothing like short-sleeve shirts and cargo pants will keep you comfortable.
Night: It may cool down quickly, so a light sweater or fleece might be needed.
Sun protection: Sunscreen and wide-brimmed hats are essential to protect against the sun, especially during long game drives. A scarf or bandana can also be useful for additional sun protection. It's important to wear UV-protective clothing or apply sunscreen regularly throughout the day.
Comfortable footwear: You will likely be doing a lot of walking, so comfortable, sturdy shoes are a must. Closed-toed shoes like hiking boots or trail shoes are ideal for walking in the bush, as they provide ankle support and protection from rough terrain and potential thorny plants. Socks should be moisture-wicking to prevent discomfort during long drives or walks.
Pants or shorts? Lightweight, long pants are recommended, as they provide protection from thorny bushes, insects, and the sun. However, during warmer months, comfortable shorts can be worn when not on game drives. Convertible pants that zip off into shorts are a great option.
Insect protection: Insect repellent is essential, especially during early mornings and evenings when mosquitoes are most active. You should also consider wearing long sleeves and pants to minimize exposure to insects.
Binoculars and camera: If you are interested in wildlife photography, having a camera with a good zoom lens is essential. A pair of binoculars is also useful for spotting distant animals and getting a closer view during game drives.
Hot days: Daytime temperatures can be quite hot, so light clothing, sunscreen, and hats are necessary.
Cool nights: Nights and early mornings can be chilly, so packing a light jacket or fleece is advisable.
Dusty conditions: Since it's the dry season, the ground can be dusty. A scarf or bandana to cover your face is recommended to prevent inhaling dust.

Know before you go

For a comfortable and enjoyable safari, we recommend packing light, breathable clothing in neutral colors, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable walking shoes. Evenings and early mornings can be chilly, so a light jacket or fleece is advisable. Don't forget your binoculars, camera, extra memory cards, and a power bank to capture the incredible moments.
August is one of the best months for a safari in Northern Tanzania, offering dry and pleasant weather with minimal rainfall. Wildlife viewing is at its peak, as animals gather around water sources, and the Great Migration is active in the northern Serengeti. Expect warm days (25-30°C) and cool nights (10-15°C).
Tanzania is a safe and welcoming destination, but we advise all travelers to have travel insurance covering medical emergencies. It's recommended to take malaria prophylaxis and ensure routine vaccinations (yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A & B) are up to date. We provide bottled drinking water throughout the safari.
All accommodations offer full-board meals with a variety of local and international cuisines. If you have any dietary restrictions or preferences (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.), please let us know in advance so we can inform the lodges.
Wi-Fi is available in most lodges, but signal strength may vary, especially in remote areas like Serengeti. Mobile networks are available in most parks, but some regions may have limited coverage. We recommend carrying cash in USD (small denominations) for tips, souvenirs, or personal expenses, as ATMs are only available in major towns.
While tipping is not mandatory, it is customary to appreciate the service of your safari team.
