The itinerary

Day 01

Huaraz to Mitucocha via Cacanan Pass

Duration: 4-5 hours by transport, approximately 5 hours of walking
Distance: 8 km walk
Begin your adventure by traveling from Huaraz to Cuartelhuain. After reaching the starting point, trek to Cacanan Pass at 4700 m, then descend to Mitucocha camp at 4250 m.

Day 02

Mitucocha to Carhuacocha via Carhuac Pass

Duration: 5-6 hours
Distance: 11 km
Continue your trek from Mitucocha, crossing Carhuac Pass at 4630 m, and head towards Carhuacocha camp at 4140 m.

Day 03

Carhuacocha to Huayhuash via Siula Pass

Duration: 7-8 hours
Distance: 14 km
Depart from Carhuacocha, crossing Siula Pass at 4800 m. Trek towards Huayhuash camp at 4350 m.

Day 04

Huayhuash to Cuyocpampa via Trapecio Pass

Duration: 6-7 hours
Distance: 11 km
Begin the day by trekking from Huayhuash to Trapecio Pass at 5040 m, then descend to Cuyocpampa camp at 4500 m.

Day 05

Cuyoc Camp to Huayllapa via San Antonio Pass

Duration: Approx. 9 hours
Distance: Approx. 19 km
From Cuyoc camp, ascend to San Antonio Pass at 5040 m. Then continue to Cutatambo and finally reach Huayllapa town at 3490 m.

Day 06

Huayllapa to Gashpapampa via Tapush Pass

Duration: Approx. 7 hours
Distance: Approx. 12 km
Start at Huayllapa and trek towards Tapush Pass at 4770 m, then descend to Gashpapampa camp at 4600 m.

Day 07

Gashpapampa to Jahuacocha via Yaucha Pass

Duration: Approx. 7 hours
Distance: Approx. 9 km
Trek from Gashpapampa through Yaucha Pass at 4800 m, ending your day at Jahuacocha camp at 4050 m.

Day 08

Jahuacocha to Huaraz via Jahuapunta Punta Pass

Duration: 4 hours (walking)
Distance: 9 km
On the final day, descend from Jahuacocha to Jahuapunta Punta Pass at 4650 m, then continue down to Pocpa before returning to Huaraz by transport (4 hours).
