Itinerary

Day 1- Arrival and Exploration
- Arrive at Rubondo Island airstrip or via boat transfer from Mwanza.
- Check in to your accommodation - options range from the comfortable Rubondo Island Camp to more rustic bandas.
- After lunch, embark on a guided nature walk through the lush forest, keeping an eye out for monkeys, bushbucks, and a variety of birds.
- In the late afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on Lake Victoria, offering a chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, and maybe even a sitatunga antelope.
- Enjoy dinner under the stars, listening to the sounds of the African bush.
Day 2- Chimpanzees and Birdwatching
- Early morning: Head out for chimpanzee trekking. Rubondo is home to a population of these fascinating primates, and although sightings aren't guaranteed, the experience of searching for them in their natural habitat is rewarding.
