Little India (1h 30m)

The walk begins at Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, one of the oldest and most striking Hindu temples in Singapore, dedicated to the goddess Kali and covered in intricate sculptural detail.

You'll then move through Tekka Centre, one of Singapore's most authentic wet markets and hawker centres, filled with fresh spices and grilling meat. This is where we dig in!

The Little India Arcade follows, lined with shops selling traditional clothing, garlands and handicrafts that have barely changed in decades.

At the Indian Heritage Centre, your guide will take you through the story of Singapore's Indian community and how they have shaped the city today, and you'll get to wander through the neighbourhood's colourful backstreets and past vibrant murals.

Kampong Glam (1h 30m)

The next leg of your journey continues at Kampong Glam, one of Singapore's oldest Malay-Muslim quarters. Beginning at Haji Lane, you'll walk through a narrow alleyway lined with murals, independent boutiques and small creative businesses that show off Singapore's thriving creative arts scene.

Sultan Mosque anchors the neighbourhood at its centre, one of the most beautiful buildings in Singapore and still an active place of worship for the city's Malay community.

The Camera Museum offers some pause and a curiosity, with a collection of vintage cameras and photographic history. Learn about the history of Kampong Glam, the Malay royalty and trading communities at the Malay Heritage Centre and its Spice Garden.

This segment of the walk ends along Muscat and Bussola Street, where you'll have a couple of bites of authentic Malay food recommended by your guide.

Chinatown (2h)

The final neighbourhood of the walk is Chinatown, where you'll visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, one of Southeast Asia's most significant Mahayana Buddhist sites, and the Chinatown Heritage Centre, where your guide can take you deeper into the history of the early Chinese immigrants who arrived in the 19th century.

Maxwell Food Centre is the final food stop, and with this you'll have tasted cuisines from all 3 main cultures of Singapore, each with dishes that differ from the cuisine of each culture's original homeland.

Ann Siang Hill and Club Street round out the walk with some of Chinatown's best-preserved shophouse architecture. The buildings that once housed clan associations and secret societies now contain some of the neighbourhood's best independent bars and cafes.
