Day 01

Arrival in Islamabad

  • Arrival at Islamabad International Airport, Islamabad
  • Airport transfer
  • Check-in at the hotel
  • Overnight in Islamabad
  • From the airport, our guide(s) will receive you.
  • You will be transferred to the booked hotel shortly.
  • Guests may relax and recover from their long journey on this day.
  • Pick-up details: one of our guides will be holding a sign with both our company's logo and your name on it. International flights normally arrive at midnight, so the Islamabad airport is usually less crowded at that time.
  • Our guide can easily locate you and assist you further.
  • Kindly let us know in advance if you do not need any airport transfers.

Day 02

Flight to Skardu and Optional Hike

  • Morning flight to Skardu from Islamabad Airport (1 hour)
  • Airport transfer
  • Check-in at the hotel
  • Hike to Kharpocho Fort or Upper Kachura Lake
  • You can also purchase your gear from Skardu Bazaar on this day.

Day 03

Skardu Sightseeing

  • Visit the famous Kharpocho Fort in Skardu
  • Day tour to Sadpara Lake
  • Free time for shopping in Skardu Bazaar

Day 04

Jeep Safari to Askole Village

  • (Altitude: 3,010 m, Distance: 130 km, Time: 6-8 hours)
  • Morning jeep safari to Askole village
  • Participants will begin the jeep safari to Daso, passing through the Shigar Valley.
  • The journey along the sides of the Braldu River on the way to Askole will be explored.
  • Askole is the last village on our route; after leaving the jeeps behind, participants will begin walking.

Day 05

Trek from Askole to Jhola

  • (Altitude: 3,100 m, Distance: 20 km, Time: 5-8 hours)
  • Completion of necessary supplies and equipment
  • Lunch at Korofon River
  • Overnight in Jhola
  • The porters will load up for the trek ahead to Jhola after the necessary supplies and equipment are completed.
  • The valley is the gateway to the Biafo Glacier, which streams from Hispar La to Braldu for over 50 km.
  • As the snout of the glacier is crossed, participants will witness metamorphic rock formations along the walk.
  • Korofon River is an amazing spot for lunch.
  • The route will take us to the Braldu and Domordo rivers.
  • For the walk, the former path is not taken; instead, a newer trail leads upstream, where participants will cross the river by bridge.
  • Participants will descend to the edge of the Braldu River on the other side of the bridge and follow the riverbank to reach the camp at Jhola.

Day 06

Trek from Jhola to Paiju

  • (Altitude: 3,420 m, Distance: 19.8 km, Time: 6-7 hours)
  • Participants will follow the gorge of Braldu along the bank of the Braldu River.
  • Amazing views of the rocks at Trango Tower and Cathedral Peak
  • Depending on the water levels, participants may need to use river-crossing shoes.
  • The snout of Baltoro Glacier can be seen on a clear day.
  • By climbing away from the river to camp at Paiju, participants will end their day.
  • On the day of our K2 Base Camp trek, participants will continue along the Braldu gorge beside the Braldu River.
  • Participants will be able to see the spectacular rock faces of Trango Tower and Cathedral Peak.
  • Participants should avoid potential sunburn, as walking conditions on this day can be very dry and humid.
  • Several glacier-fed streams flow down into the valley, and along the way participants may have to use river-crossing shoes depending on the water levels.
  • Participants will be able to spot the snout of Baltoro Glacier on a clear day.
  • On this day, participants will end their trek by climbing away from the river to camp at Paiju, the last camp where you will see trees for a while.

Day 07

Acclimatization Day in Paiju

  • (Altitude: 3,420 m)
  • Acclimatization day at Paiju Camp
  • For acclimatization, participants will spend the day at Paiju Camp.
  • The porters, however, will take their time on the glacier to bake bread for the next week.
  • An acclimatization walk can also be taken on this day towards the base camp of Paiju Hill.

Day 08

Trek from Paiju to Khoburtse

  • (Altitude: 3,788 m, Distance: 14.7 km, Time: 5-7 hours)
  • Trango Tower and Uli Biaho views
  • Cross over the glacier to Liligo
  • Camp by the edge of Khoburtse
  • The walk becomes challenging on this day, but with each step taken on the snout of Baltoro Glacier, the scenery is spectacular.
  • Although the trail is very safe, it has continuous up-and-down climbs on the glacial terrain, so it is strongly recommended to be careful at all times.
  • As you move forward, participants will witness breathtaking views of Trango Tower and Uli Biaho.
  • Participants need to cross the glacier to reach Liligo.
  • From this point, participants will follow a rocky path along the edge of the Baltoro to Khoburtse, where the camp will be set up.

Day 09

Trek to Urdukas Camp

  • (Altitude: 3,910 m, Distance: 6.4 km, Time: 4-6 hours)
  • Stop at Urdukas near the army camp
  • After crossing two tiny glaciers, the Trango Towers can finally be seen.
  • Participants will stop at Urdukas near the army camp for the night.

Day 10

Trek to Goro II

  • (Altitude: 4,290 m, Distance: 12 km, Time: 6-8 hours)
  • Views of Masherbrum (7,821 m)
  • First night camping on Baltoro Glacier at Goro II
  • Views of Masherbrum, Gasherbrum 4, and Muztagh Tower
  • We are now in the heart of Concordia, with only ice on which to pitch our tents, surrounded by the great peaks of Muztagh Tower, Gasherbrum 4, and Masherbrum, the most stunning of them all. It is guaranteed to take your breath away.
  • If we are rewarded with a clear evening, nothing can prepare you for the sunset and the red hue over Masherbrum - a sight never to be forgotten.

Day 11

Trek to Concordia

  • (Altitude: 4,512 m, Distance: 11.7 km, Time: 5-7 hours)
  • Trek to Concordia
  • Marble and Crystal Peaks on the way
  • Finally surrounded by four eight-thousanders

Day 12

K2 Base Camp and Broad Peak Base Camp

  • Congratulations! You made it. We can begin early, crossing crevasses and small rivers produced by melting ice.
  • We follow the glacier named after Godwin Austin, who first proclaimed the height of K2.
  • After three hours, we will reach Broad Peak Base Camp, where we will have a clear view of the spectacular Karakoram giant K2, with Mitre Peak behind us and Broad Peak nearby.
  • We move on across the moraine, which is mostly made up of boulders.
  • We walk on the moraine, though we do occasionally cross ice.
  • After another three hours of trekking, we will complete the one-way trip to K2 Base Camp, reaching the moraine safe zone, a typical K2 climbers' base camp area.
  • If time allows, participants can also visit the Gilkey Memorial.
  • The memorial bears the names of valiant climbers engraved on plates and plaques.
  • These were the brave people who died while attempting K2.
  • It depends on the participants whether to trek to K2 Base Camp, Broad Peak Base Camp, and Gilkey Memorial, choose one or another, choose both options, or rest at Concordia on this day.
  • It is mandatory to return to Concordia on this day.

Day 13

Return Trek to Goro I

  • On this day, you will return to Goro I from K2 Base Camp.
  • The trek is much easier as you will be descending from the base camp.

Day 14

Return Trek to Khoburtse

  • On this day, you will trek back to Khoburtse from Goro I.
  • During the journey, you will enjoy great views of the Trango Towers and other beautiful mountain ranges.
  • The trek is easier as you will be descending downhill.

Day 15

Return Trek to Paiju Camp

  • On this day, you will walk down to Paiju Camp.
  • This is the day when you will finally return to civilization from the glacier moraines.

Day 16

Trek to Jhola

  • The trek on this day will also be much easier, as you will be hiking on solid ground and fields.
  • You will camp at Jhola.

Day 17

Trek to Askole and Drive to Skardu

  • This is the last trekking day.
  • If the road conditions are good, you will be picked up from your campsite; otherwise, you will transfer to jeeps in Askole.
  • On the same day, you will continue driving to Skardu by jeep.
  • The jeep ride takes around 6 hours to reach Skardu city.

Day 18

Contingency Day in Skardu

  • All guests will have an extra day in Skardu to relax after a strenuous trek.
  • This day is added as a contingency for any sort of delays during the trek.

Day 19

Flight to Islamabad

  • Participants will take a flight from Skardu Airport to Islamabad Airport on this day.
  • You are going to have a nice time relaxing at the Islamabad hotel.
  • Due to weather conditions, domestic flights are often canceled.
  • In the event of a flight delay, you will travel overnight to Chilas.
  • The vehicle journey takes eight to ten hours.

Day 20

Contingency for Flight Cancellation

  • In the case of domestic flight cancellation on the previous day, this day is reserved for any further delays.
  • Early in the morning, guests will depart from Chilas to Islamabad, which can take up to 10 hours.
  • However, it will be a free day if participants made it to Islamabad on the previous day's flight.
  • You can use this time for sightseeing in Islamabad.

Day 21

Departure from Islamabad

  • Finally, your K2 Base Camp Trek land package ends with breakfast and a transfer to the airport.
