Goroka Show 2025 and Experience (No: 5/25)
The Goroka Show is a well-known tribal gathering and cultural event in Papua New Guinea. It is a sing-sing held every year close to the country's Independence Day (16 September) in the town of Goroka, the capital of the Eastern Highlands Province. About 100 tribes arrive to show their music, dance, and culture. The festival started in the mid-1950s as an initiative of Australian Kiaps. In recent years, it has become a major attraction for both national and international tourists and remains the largest cultural event in Papua New Guinea, despite similar shows now being organized in Mount Hagen and other cities around the country.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Date: 17th September (Wednesday)
Arrive in Port Moresby and transfer to the hotel (TBA). In the afternoon, enjoy sightseeing around Port Moresby, the capital city of Papua New Guinea. Meals are not included.
Day 2 - Date: 18th September (Thursday)
Depart for Goroka Airport in the morning and transfer to Pacific Garden Lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy bird watching and Mudmen entertainment, followed by an overnight stay. Local meals are included.
Day 3 - Date: 19th September (Friday)
Attend Goroka Show 2024 - Day 1.
Enjoy photography sessions, interviews, face painting, and more, with 50 groups from all regions of Papua New Guinea performing at the show. Two full days are spent at the Goroka Show, world-famous for its colour, culture, and vibrancy, and known as the biggest sing-sing of the year, with up to 150 groups present. It is a truly spectacular event. The diversity of the coastal, lowland, and highlands sing-sing groups reflects the incredible diversity of Papua New Guinea's landscape. There is also a very interesting agricultural show and music festival.

Day 4 - Date: 20th September (Saturday)
Attend Goroka Show 2024 - Day 2.
Continue with photography sessions, interviews, face painting, and more, with 50 groups from all regions of Papua New Guinea performing at the show.
Meals are not included, and accommodation in standard rooms (TBA) is included.
Excess pass with 2 water bottles issued.
Day 5 - Date: 21st September (Sunday)
Attend Goroka Show 2024 - Day 3.
Enjoy photography sessions, interviews, face painting, and more, with 50 groups from all regions of Papua New Guinea performing at the show.
Meals are not included, and accommodation in standard rooms is included.

Day 6 - Date: 22nd September (Monday)
Morning air transfer to Port Moresby and transfer to the hotel (TBA).
In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Port Moresby City.
Accommodation and all meals are not included.
Day 7 - Date: 23rd September (Tuesday)
Morning fly-out to Port Moresby City.
