Spring Journey to Urgut Mountain Village
Just 40 kilometres from Samarkand, we arrive at a village near Urgut, close to the border with Tajikistan.
Morning on the road
08:00 - departure from Samarkand.
The route passes through picturesque scenery, including rocky mountains, spring streams, and the famous Urgut plane groves, where some of the trees are more than a thousand years old.
Acquaintance with the life of a mountain village
In the village, you will be welcomed by the Mamatov family. The head of the family will lead a tour, tell you about local crafts, including carpet weaving and tobacco production, and introduce you to the traditions of the region.
You will learn how life in Urgut differs from other parts of Uzbekistan.
Tulip field at the foot of the mountain
A walk along mountain trails will lead you to picturesque tulip fields. The flowers grow among rocks and spring meadows, creating incredible natural scenes and a wonderful backdrop for photos. Please note: tulips bloom from April 20 to May 15.
Gastronomic pleasure
After the walk, you will cook a national dish - kazan-kebab - together with the village hosts. A delicious lunch in the company of locals will complete this eventful day.
