Hồ Chí Minh City to Cai Be and Tan Phong Island
8:00 - 8:30 am: We will pick you up from your hotel in central District 1.
8:30 - 10:30 am: Leave the hustle and bustle of Hồ Chí Minh City behind and embark on a scenic 2-hour journey to the charming village of Cai Be, with a stop for refreshments and a toilet break.
10:30 - 11:00 am: Upon arrival, we will board a motorboat and cruise along the legendary Mekong River's canals and waterways, taking in its picturesque beauty.
11:00 - 11:30 am: We will pass through the area that was once home to the bustling floating market, where the echoes of vibrant trade still resonate. Although the market may not be as lively as it once was, it still offers a captivating glimpse into the region's traditional trading customs.
11:30 - 12:00 pm: Visit a riverside flea market and witness the changing nature of local life as people transition from an unstable, water-based existence to a more stable life on land.
12:00 - 12:30 pm: During your visit to the local cottage industries, you will have the opportunity to observe the production of various local products such as coconut candies, pop rice, and rice paper, and even sample unique beverages like snake wine.
12:30 - 1:30 pm: We will cross the Mekong River to reach the renowned Tan Phong Island, where you can explore a lush tropical fruit garden, enjoy the mesmerizing sounds of Vietnamese traditional music, and experience the authentic local lifestyle with a tranquil hand-rowed sampan ride.
1:30 - 2:30 pm: Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local home, where your host will present a cooking demonstration. You will also have the opportunity to challenge yourself by learning how to cook a traditional Vietnamese dish before sitting down to a wonderful meal.
2:30 - 3:00 pm: After that, you can either relax at the house or join a 30-minute cycling tour around the village, which provides an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the local way of life.
3:00 - 5:00 pm: After the cycling tour, we will return to the house, bid farewell to our hosts, and then drive back to Hồ Chí Minh City.
5:00 - 5:30 pm: We will drop you back at the pick-up point.
