The itinerary

Day 01

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park Safari

After breakfast, drive to Mikumi National Park, which is approximately a 5-hour drive from Dar es Salaam.

Enjoy a hot lunch in Morogoro Town, followed by afternoon game drives in Mikumi National Park.
Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam.
Covering 3,230 sq. km, it lies between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the south-east. Mikumi hosts buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, and hippos, just to mention a few.
Dinner and overnight at Tan Swiss Hotel or similar.

Day 02

Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Udzungwa

After breakfast, start with morning game drives until lunchtime.

After enjoying your lunch, drive to Udzungwa National Park, which is approximately a 2-hour drive from Mikumi National Park.
On arrival at Udzungwa National Park, check in for the evening at the campsite or Udzungwa Mountain View Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 03

Udzungwa Mountains Hike and Waterfalls

After breakfast, start with a walk to the waterfalls to take pictures, or hike to Luhombero, the highest peak of the Udzungwa Mountains, take pictures, and return to your hotel to shower and relax.

The main features include its mountainous terrain and biologically diverse forests, which host a variety of endemic plant and animal species.
There are also at least 10 species of primates, including the red colobus and the Sanje crested mangabey monkeys.
There are several hiking trails winding through various sections of the park, with the most popular being a circuit to the Sanje waterfalls and a hike to Luhombero Peak.
Dinner and overnight at the campsite or Udzungwa Mountain View Hotel.

Day 04

Return to Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, drive back to Dar es Salaam and enjoy your lunch in Morogoro Town. Arrival in Dar es Salaam is in the late evening.
