Day 6- Antsirabe –Tana
Day 1: Antananarivo to Andasibe National Park
Drive 3 hours (140 km) east from Antananarivo (Tana) through lush highlands. Stop at Peyrieras Private Park (1-2 hours) to see over six chameleon species, including nose-horned and panther chameleons, plus frogs and butterflies. Enjoy lunch at a roadside café with fresh Malagasy rice dishes. In the afternoon, visit Vakona Reserve (2 hours) for close encounters with lemurs on Lemur Island—ring-tailed, brown, and black-and-white ruffed lemurs. Join a guided 7pm night walk (2 hours) in Andasibe to spot mouse lemurs, sportive lemurs, and owls.

Take a morning hike in Analamazaotra Park (2-3 hours) to hear the Indri lemur's whale-like calls—Madagascar's largest lemur, unique to this rainforest. Depart mid-afternoon for a scenic 5-hour (300 km) drive south through rice paddies and colonial towns to Antsirabe, the "City of Water".

Depart at 6am for a rugged 8-10 hour (450 km) drive west through Miandrivazo mountains. Stop at Baobab Avenue at golden hour for photos of ancient Adansonia grandidieri trees. Arrive in Kirindy, then join a 7pm guided night walk (2 hours) in Kirindy Forest Reserve to see fork-marked lemurs, fat-tailed dwarf lemurs, and glowing scorpions under UV light.

Enjoy a day walks in Kirindy Forest (2-3 hours) for daytime lemurs (Verreaux's sifaka, red-fronted brown lemurs), over 100 bird species like the crested coua, and endemic reptiles. Visit sacred Mahafaly tombs and Allée des Baobabs, including the heart-shaped "Baobab in Love". Explore Kirindy Village for local zebu herding culture. End with sunset at Baobab Avenue (1 hour).

Take a morning pirogue boat trip (1-2 hours) to Betania fishermen's village and mangrove channels—watch fishermen haul shrimp nets and spot mangrove kingfishers. Then drive 8 hours (450 km) east through highlands.

Drive 3 hours (170 km) back to Tana. Stop at an aluminium cooking pot factory in Ambatolampy (45 minutes) to watch artisanal forging. Visit the Rova of Antananarivo (Queen's Palace Manjakamiadina, 1 hour) for Merina Kingdom history. Browse the bustling Analakely arts market for zebu horn carvings and embroidered lamba.
