8-Day Guilin Rural Tour with LongSheng and Dong Minority Villages

Meet your local tour guide in Yangshuo and head toward the YuLong river valley.

Make your way to Fen Long village, cross the Jinbao river, and ride along rice fields and lotus ponds to the Yulong river.

Stop for a while in an open cave, then continue the journey deeper into the valley.

Reach Caoyang village and cross the Yulong river.

Stop for lunch.

Head back to the river, leave the bikes, and get on bamboo rafts.

Cruise down the river for an hour or more.

From the bridge, ride back to Yangshuo.

Take a local bus to YangDi town, where you can hire a motorized raft to XingPing town.

Spend some time in XingPing, walking around the old town and tasting local cookies and dishes.

Take the local bus back to Yangshuo.

Ride on a tuk-tuk along the old picturesque road to PuTao.

On the way, stop at the Yangshuo tea plantation to learn about the tea harvest.

Continue to the Stone village, which is not just an interesting example of dry stone architecture, but also part of JingJiang Prince Mansion.

Leave Yangshuo and drive north to the LongSheng rice terraces.

Stay overnight.

Drive to the SanJiang bridge and Belltower.

Stay with a local family and learn the local customs of the Dong and Miao minorities.

Drive to Congjiang village, the only place where men still keep the Qin dynasty hairstyle and use a gun for hunting.

Stay overnight.

Observe the culture and lifestyle of Zhaoxing village, home of the Dong minority.

Drive back to Guilin.
