Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival and Explore Zanzibar’s Marine Life

   • Morning: Arrival in Zanzibar and Transfer to Mnemba Island.

   9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Arrival and Transfer to Mnemba Island

   • Arrival at Zanzibar: Arrive at Zanzibar International Airport or your hotel. You can depart directly from Stone Town or Nungwi if you're already staying in Zanzibar.
   • Transfer to Mnemba Island: You’ll be transferred to Mnemba Island, a small private island located 4.5 kilometers off the northeast coast of Zanzibar. You can reach Mnemba Island by boat, which takes about 30-45 minutes depending on your starting location.
   • Accommodation: If you’re staying at one of Mnemba's luxury resorts (like Mnemba Island Lodge), you'll check in and settle into your accommodation. Mnemba is known for its high-end eco-friendly accommodations.

   Afternoon: Relaxation and Beach Time

   12:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Relaxing Beach Time

   • Lunch and Relaxation: After check-in, you can enjoy a beachfront lunch at your resort or a nearby restaurant. This is a great opportunity to try some fresh seafood or other Zanzibari specialities.
   • Beach Time: Spend the afternoon relaxing on the pristine beaches of Mnemba Island. The beaches are quiet, serene, and perfect for unwinding. You can swim, sunbathe, or take a stroll along the shoreline.

   Late Afternoon: Dolphin Tour (Mnemba Atoll)

   3:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Dolphin Tour

   • Dolphin Watching: In the late afternoon, embark on a Dolphin Tour around Mnemba Atoll. The waters surrounding Mnemba Island are home to dolphins, and you’ll have a chance to see them in their natural habitat. The most commonly spotted species are the spinner dolphins, known for their playful behaviour.
   • Boat Ride: A local guide will take you on a boat ride to the prime dolphin-watching areas.
   • Dolphin Spotting: Keep your eyes peeled for the dolphins jumping and spinning in the water. If you’re lucky, you might even see them swimming alongside your boat.

   Evening: Dinner and New Year's Eve Celebration

   6:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Dinner and Festive Celebration

   • Dinner: After returning from the dolphin tour, enjoy a delicious dinner at the resort. Many resorts host New Year's Eve special dinners, so you can look forward to a festive and luxurious meal with fresh seafood, local specialities, and even international dishes.
   • New Year’s Eve Festivities: Depending on your resort, there may be a New Year's Eve celebration with music, dancing, and a countdown to midnight. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, and ring in the New Year on the beautiful island.

2. Day 2: Snorkeling and Explore the Waters of Mnemba

   Morning: Snorkeling at Mnemba Atoll.

   8:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Snorkeling Adventure

   • Breakfast: Start the day with a fresh breakfast at your resort, enjoying the view of the turquoise waters.
   • Snorkelling Trip: Head out on a snorkelling excursion around Mnemba Atoll, one of Zanzibar's top snorkelling spots. The waters around the island are home to vibrant coral reefs, colourful fish, and various marine species, including turtles and tropical fish.
   • Snorkel at the Reef: Explore the underwater world with a local guide who will take you to the best snorkelling spots. You'll be provided with snorkelling gear (mask, snorkel, and fins), and you can dive into the clear, warm waters to witness the beautiful marine life.
   • Coral Gardens: The coral gardens here are stunning, and you'll get the chance to see fish species like parrotfish, angelfish, and possibly even moray eels.

   Late Morning: Free Time or Additional Activities

   11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Leisure Time or Water Sports

   • After snorkeling, you’ll have some free time to relax. You can return to the beach for some more swimming or sunbathing, or you can opt for other water sports offered at Mnemba Island, such as kayaking or paddleboarding.

   Afternoon: Lunch and Explore the Island

   12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch and Island Exploration

   • Lunch: Head back to the resort for a relaxing lunch by the beach. Enjoy the tranquil setting and beautiful views of the island’s lush vegetation and turquoise waters.
   • Explore the Island: If you're up for it, take a short walk around the island. Mnemba is a small private island, and you can explore its beaches, enjoy the natural beauty, or just relax under the shade of palm trees.

   Late Afternoon: Departure

   2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Return to Zanzibar

   • Check-Out and Transfer Back: After a relaxed afternoon, check out of the resort and take a boat transfer back to Zanzibar (either Stone Town or a nearby beach resort).
