- Morning visit to the city centre nestled in the meandering Vltava River protected as a UNESCO heritage site – cobblestoned streets, charming small houses, traditional market, visit of the Castle and the gardens.
- From Český Krumlov, we will head to Telč, a fairy tale town situated in the Moravia. The town center was inscribed on the UNESCO Heritage List in 1992, and it represents a great architectural jewel. The history of this laid-back town dates back to the 12th century, but after the big fire which hit the town in the 16th century, the whole city centre had to be renovated again. And so, a Telč Château and beautiful Renaissance and baroque houses with arcades and richly decorated gables have been built at the main square.
- Transfer to UNESCO town Třebíč, tour in Třebíč Jewish Quarter and the Basilica is a unique example of the close co-existence of Christian and Jewish culture from the Middle Ages until the 20th century. The Basilica of St. Procopius. Originally built as part of the Benedictine monastery in the early 13th century, it was influenced by Western European ideas in its construction.
-
Day 5: Prague via Kutná Hora
- Our first destination on day 5 to explore will be another UNESCO World Heritage site – the Pilgrimage Church of Saint John of Nepomuk on the Zelená Hora. It is another Moravian jewel. The church was constructed in honour of St. John of Nepomuk, the Czech martyr who drowned in the Vltava River because he refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional.
- From there we will continue to another UNESCO jewel of Czechia – Kutná Hora. During our visit we will firstly visit The Sedlec Ossuary which is truly a unique and impressive bone church.
- The Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady and St John the Baptist in Sedlec is another place to visit in Sedlec. Its construction began in 1290 and it combines the French Gothic architecture with German elements.
- And we will leave the best for the end: The Cathedral of St. Barbara – the symbol of Kutná Hora and the jewel of the Late Gothic. The splendor of its structure is a tangible testament to the fame and riches of the silver town Kutná Hora and the deep devotion of its creators.
