The itinerary

Day 01

Overnight Journey and Sunrise Trek at Mount Ijen

20:00 (Bali Time): Pick-up from the Bali area and head to Java Island. Drive to Gilimanuk Port (approx. 4-5 hours); the ferry takes about 1 hour to Java. From the ferry port to the Ijen camping ground is around 1.5 hours.
23:30: Arrive at Gilimanuk Port and head to Java Island.
00:30: Arrive in Java and continue to Paltuding camping ground.
01:30: Arrive at Mount Ijen and have a coffee break.
02:00: Climb Mount Ijen (takes at least 1.5-2 hours).
03:30: Witness the Blue Flame and sulfur mining, visible before sunrise.
05:00: Experience the sunrise on Mount Ijen.
07:00: Descend from Mount Ijen.
08:00: Breakfast at a local restaurant.
09:00-14:00: Drive to the Mount Bromo area and check in to the hotel.

Day 02

King Kong Hills Sunrise and Mount Bromo Adventure

03:00: Wake up and get in a 4WD jeep, heading to King Kong Hills Viewpoint for sunrise.
04:00: Enjoy a coffee break while waiting for the sunrise.
04:30: Sunrise at King Kong Hills Viewpoint.
06:00: Drive to Mount Bromo Crater.
06:30: Climb the volcano crater and enjoy the views.
08:00: Visit Whispering Sand and Luhur Temple.
08:30: Proceed to Lava View Restaurant.
09:00: Breakfast time.
10:00: Drive back to Bali, Surabaya, or Malang.

Note: It takes 2 hours to drive from Bromo to the Surabaya/Malang area and 9 hours to the Bali area.

You can take your luggage with you during the trip. No need to worry about leaving it behind or carrying it separately. Our guide will accompany you as you climb Bromo, while our driver safely guards your luggage inside the car.
When it comes time for drop-off, there are a few options available depending on your plans. We can drop you off anywhere within the Surabaya/Malang area or Bali, as stated in this tour program.
If you want to arrive in Bali earlier, we recommend taking a flight from Juanda International Airport in Surabaya to Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar.
