6-Day Ghana Historical and Adventure Tour with Castles and Kakum

• Arrival at the airport, where you will meet your tour guide in front of the arrivals area. After completing the formalities, your guide will drive you to your hotel for the overnight stay.

• Early after breakfast, start the Accra city tour and drive through the city to explore its key landmarks.
• Visit the old Polo Park, where Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, declared independence on 6th March 1957. The site is now the memorial park for the president of Ghana.
• Continue to Independence Square, where Ghanaians celebrate independence every 6th March, for a photo stop at Independence Square and the Independence Arch.
• Continue to the coffin factory at Teshie, then head to the Center of the World in Tema, where Ghana has its second seaport and a colourful fishing harbour.
• Drive back to Accra. If time permits, visit Makola Market to shop for African prints for African dresses, and the tailor may come to the hotel to take measurements.

• After breakfast, check out of your hotel and start the trip to Cape Coast, enjoying the coastal vegetation and local communities along the way. Stop for photos at Mankesim, the capital of the Fanti settlements, and at the Posuban shrine.
• Continue to view Fort Amsterdam at Abandze, built by the Dutch.
• Proceed to Cape Coast, the administrative capital of the British administration, for a tour of the castle, slave dungeon, and museum.
• Continue to the hotel.

• After breakfast, start the trip to Elmina Castle and the slave dungeon, which was built in 1482 by the Portuguese and later taken over by the Dutch around 1600. According to history, the slave trade was abolished in 1837.
• Enjoy a walking tour in Elmina through the fishing community.
• Continue to Kakum National Park to walk on the canopy and through the primary forest, exploring and experiencing nature.
• After Kakum and lunch, start the trip back to Accra and arrive late in the evening at your hotel in Accra.
