Itinerary
-
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
- Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, you'll be greeted and transferred to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds, baobab trees, and diverse wildlife.
- After lunch, you'll embark on an afternoon game drive through the park, where you'll encounter herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, and possibly lions or cheetahs.
- The park is also a birdwatcher's paradise with over 500 species.
- The day ends with a scenic sunset game drive, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.
- Overnight in a lodge or tented camp within or near Tarangire.
-
Day 2: Tarangire to Ndutu (Serengeti Ecosystem)
- After breakfast, you’ll journey to Ndutu, a region in the southern Serengeti ecosystem known for its seasonal wildlife migrations. En route, enjoy scenic views of the vast plains and the Ngorongoro Highlands.
- After lunch at your lodge, head out for an afternoon game drive.
- Depending on the season, you’ll have the chance to witness the Great Migration, where hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains, often pursued by predators like lions and cheetahs. The area is rich in birdlife, with flamingos sometimes spotted in the nearby Lake Ndutu.
- Overnight in Ndutu at a comfortable lodge or tented camp.
-
Day 3: Full Day in Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)
- A full day dedicated to exploring Ndutu and its surroundings.
- Early morning game drives offer the best chances to see predators, such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, in action as they hunt. The southern Serengeti plains come alive with migratory wildlife, particularly from December to March, when wildebeest and zebras give birth, attracting both scavengers and predators.
- After lunch at the lodge, enjoy another game drive, exploring more of the area’s diverse landscapes, including lakes, marshes, and open grasslands.
- You’ll also have the chance to visit the nearby Seronera area in the Serengeti if you’d like.
- Return to your camp or lodge for the evening.
-
Day 4: Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha (Departure)
- After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in Africa.
- Upon arrival, descend into the crater for an unforgettable game drive. This natural wonder is home to nearly every major African species, including elephants, lions, buffalo, and black rhinos, along with a wide variety of birds.
- After lunch at a picnic site within the crater, enjoy more wildlife viewing before heading back up to the crater rim.
- From here, drive back to Arusha (about 3 hours), where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or directly at the airport for your departure flight.
