The journey
Experience Auckland’s coastline after dark on a guided kayak tour from Waiake Beach, where each paddle stroke may reveal the sea glowing with bioluminescent light. As twilight fades, head out on calm evening waters with a professional guide and discover one of nature’s most magical phenomena from the seat of a comfortable double kayak.
No prior kayaking experience is needed. After a full safety briefing, you’ll paddle for around 1 hour 15 minutes, explore hidden corners known to your guide, and learn more about the natural wonders of the sea along the way. Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, so sightings cannot be guaranteed, but the night-time paddling experience itself is unforgettable.
