Full-Day Itinerary - Whale Shark, Tumalog, and Canyoneering Adventure Tour
Your day begins early with hotel pickup in Cebu City or Mactan Island between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM. Meet your friendly driver and tour guide, then settle into your private, air-conditioned van for a scenic 3-hour countryside drive heading south. Along the way, watch the sunrise along the coastline, pass through charming fishing villages, and enjoy the calm of the early morning breeze.
At around 4:30 AM to 4:45 AM, stop briefly at a local roadside cafe for a quick coffee or snack. Enjoy a short break with a cup of hot coffee, light bread, or Filipino puto to energize your morning.
From 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, continue to Tan-awan, Oslob, for the whale shark watching adventure. Upon arrival at the Oslob Whale Shark Briefing Center, register, gear up, and listen carefully as local guides explain the important safety and eco-guidelines designed to protect these gentle giants.
Between 6:30 AM and 6:45 AM, attend the safety orientation and briefing. From 6:45 AM to 7:00 AM, take a boat ride to the whale shark interaction area. Then, from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM, enjoy the whale shark watching and snorkeling activity, followed by a freshwater rinse and quick refreshment from 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM.
Experience pure awe as you come face-to-face with the whale sharks - calm, majestic, and massive. Whether you swim beside them or watch from the boat, this is truly a bucket-list encounter you will never forget. You may also take underwater selfies beside these magnificent creatures. Before leaving, you can enjoy local fruits or a quick banana snack.
From 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, visit Tumalog Falls in Oslob. After a short 10-15 minute drive from the whale shark area, you may take an optional habal-habal motorbike ride uphill to reach the falls area for PHP 50 per person.
Upon arrival, be mesmerized by Tumalog Falls, a delicate, fairy-like waterfall cascading down a mossy cliff. The cool mist refreshes your face while sunlight filters through the forest canopy, creating a dreamy and magical atmosphere. Take photos beneath the gentle water curtain or dip your feet into the shallow turquoise pool. This is a peaceful stop where you can relax, unwind, and breathe in nature's calm before the next adrenaline-filled adventure.
From 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, transfer to Badian, Cebu, for the canyoneering base camp. Sit back and enjoy the 2-hour scenic coastal drive from Oslob to Badian. The route follows winding seaside roads, coconut-lined hills, and small villages that reveal the true heart of rural Cebu.
Optional photo stops along the way may include Boljoon Heritage Church, Dalaguete Coastal Road, and the Moalboal Viewpoint. With music, laughter, and ocean views, the ride feels like a tropical road trip movie.
At 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, arrive at the Kawasan Canyoneering Headquarters in Badian for lunch. Enjoy a hearty Filipino-style meal before the adventure begins, with grilled chicken, fresh fish, rice, vegetables, tropical fruits, and refreshing drinks. You will also meet your local canyoneering guide team, who will brief you and prepare your gear for the next activity.
From 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, begin the canyoneering adventure along the Alegría-Badian Trail. After gearing up with a helmet, life jacket, and aqua shoes, take a short 15-minute motorcycle ride to the starting point of the trail.
The adventure begins with a short jungle trek from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. From 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, continue with a river trek, natural rock slides, and optional cliff jumps. Between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM, float through turquoise pools, caves, and mini waterfalls. From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, arrive at Kawasan Falls for the grand finale.
Jump into the iconic electric-blue lagoon and relax beneath the majestic waterfall - a perfect ending to an adrenaline-charged day. Capture your group jump shots, splashes, and laughter, which will become some of your favourite travel memories.
From 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, begin the return journey to Cebu City or Mactan. Between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM, freshen up, shower, and change into dry clothes at the headquarters. At 5:30 PM, depart Badian for Cebu City and enjoy the relaxing 3-hour evening drive through the countryside as the sunset paints the sky golden and pink.
At around 8:30 PM, arrive safely back at your hotel, tired, happy, and filled with incredible memories from your Cebu adventure.
