3-Day Amboseli Wildlife Safari with Kilimanjaro Views

Your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel or residence in the morning for a briefing before driving to Amboseli National Park, passing through the Athi Plains, where Burchell's zebra, the Masai giraffe, and smaller herbivores once roamed freely.

With human encroachment, much of the wildlife is now confined to game parks. There is an advantage to this, however, as driving inside a park rewards you with sightings of many different animal species.

You will reach Amboseli National Park in the afternoon in time for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game-viewing drive in the park at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft). In the late afternoon, you may be lucky enough to witness a lion or cheetah make a kill.

There will be ideal photography opportunities, with Mount Kilimanjaro providing a beautiful backdrop. Later, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

An early morning game drive can be taken in Amboseli, when Mt. Kilimanjaro usually appears from its mantle of clouds. Morning and afternoon game viewing continues in Amboseli, including the area of Lake Amboseli, a wide salt pan with permanent swamps.

This area supports abundant wildlife, both large and small, with a high concentration of elephant, rhino, buffalo, Burchell's zebra, eland, Masai giraffe, and smaller antelope species such as the common waterbuck, klipspringer, Grant's gazelle, impala, topi, and the diminutive duiker, among others.

Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy your morning and final game drive in Amboseli. An early morning game drive can be especially rewarding, as Mt. Kilimanjaro usually appears from its mantle of clouds. Afterwards, return to the camp for breakfast and depart for Nairobi.

Arrive in the afternoon, when your driver will drop you at your hotel or residence, or transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
