Solidarity History Walk in Gdańsk

In the course of the tour, visit the following places:

  • Visit the Office of Lech Wałęsa, a retired Polish politician and labour activist who founded Solidarity, a Polish labour union, and see the places where he led the workers on strike.

  • Head to the historic Occupational Health Hall, where you can take pictures and buy Solidarity gadgets.

  • Go to an exhibition dedicated to Poland's bloodless revolution, which paved the way for the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of dictatorship.

  • Stop by Solidarity Square, where the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers is located. The memorial commemorates the shipyard workers killed in December 1970.

  • See the area of the former Lenin Shipyard, the birthplace of the Solidarity trade union.
