Your journey begins at your hotel in Victoria Falls town, where you are picked up for a sunrise departure. Your minibus makes its way to Hwange National Park, located approximately a two-hour drive away. Upon arrival at the Painted Dog Center, you are welcomed by a guide who takes you through a one-hour interaction with the painted dogs.
Your knowledgeable and experienced guide then takes you on a two-and-a-half-hour game drive within Hwange National Park in open-back vehicles. You are treated to a wonderful lunch at Hwange Safari Lodge, where you can enjoy a taste of traditional Zimbabwean cuisine. After lunch, you may relax at the swimming pool.
You then go on a walking safari for two hours in Hwange National Park with an armed warden. At the end of this memorable tour, your driver transports you back to your hotel in Victoria Falls town.
Hwange Day Trip from Victoria Falls affords guests the opportunity to tour Hwange National Park, the biggest and oldest national park in Zimbabwe, well known for its large amount of mammals and birds. It is located south of Victoria Falls and approximately a two-hour drive from the town.
Pick-up from the hotel is at 06:30 hrs, so please arrange a packed breakfast with the hotel. The Hwange day trip takes you through rural villages with traditional huts to view, as well as rural hospitals, schools, and churches. The highlight of the drive is the Hwange Colliery, which exports large amounts of coal across the world.
On arrival at Hwange National Park, you will change vehicles to a 4x4 game drive vehicle. An armed and experienced guide will take you on your morning game drive. You will visit several water holes in the park to catch the animals during their drinking time. There are beautiful hides that have been strategically built, and they afford magnificent views of the animals and nature's magnificent terrain. After the morning game drive, you will be taken to one of the lodges for lunch.
As the sun's heat cools down, most animals head for the water holes, and in pursuit of game, you go on your second game drive. It has been noted that the best game viewing is towards sunset, when the wildlife tends to flock towards watering holes, and there is no better way to see Zimbabwe's finest game. The Hwange day trip ends around 17:45, after which you will be transferred back to Victoria Falls.
