Itinerary

Morning - Pick up from Hotel
- 7:30 AM - Pickup from your hotel in Arusha: Your guide will collect you from your accommodation, and you’ll set off for Arusha National Park, just a 45-minute drive from the city.
- 8:30 AM - Arrival at Arusha National Park: Once you arrive, your guide will take care of park entry formalities while you enjoy the stunning views of Mount Meru, the park’s backdrop.
- 9:00 AM - Game Drive: Start the day with a scenic game drive through the park. You will explore diverse landscapes ranging from lush forests to grasslands, all while spotting various wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and the park’s famous black-and-white colobus monkeys.
- As you drive, look for the birdlife that thrives around the park’s Momella Lakes, home to flamingos and other water birds.
Midday - Picnic Lunch
- 12:30 PM - Picnic Lunch: Stop at a designated picnic site within the park, perhaps by the shores of the Momella Lakes or beneath the shade of ancient fig trees. You can enjoy a packed picnic lunch while admiring the surrounding landscapes here.
Afternoon - Walking Safari and Game drive
- 1:30 PM - Walking Safari (optional): After lunch, embark on an optional guided walking safari led by a professional park ranger. This is a unique opportunity to get closer to nature, where you can walk through forested areas and plains, observe the wildlife and learn about the park’s flora and fauna. The walking safari provides a thrilling experience of viewing giraffes, antelopes, and other animals at ground level.
- 3:00 PM—Continue with Game Drive: After the walking safari, explore other parts of the park, including a visit to Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as “Little Ngorongoro,” which provides panoramic views of the crater and the lush forested slopes below.
Late Afternoon - Back to Arusha & Drop off to Hotel
- 4:00 PM - Return to Arusha: After a full day of adventure and wildlife encounters, it’s time to return to Arusha. Your guide will drive you back to your hotel, where you can relax and reflect on your day.
- 5:00 PM—Drop-off at your hotel: You will arrive back at your accommodation in Arusha, where the day trip ends.
