Itinerary

1. Day Trip to Lake Manyara National Park from Arusha

   • 6:00 AM – Pickup from Arusha
     • Start your adventure with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Arusha. Then, you will set off on a scenic two-hour drive through local villages, lush highlands, and expansive coffee plantations to Lake Manyara National Park.
   • 8:30 AM – Arrival at Lake Manyara National Park
     • Arrive at the park's entrance, where your guide will complete the registration and briefing. Prepare for a day filled with diverse wildlife encounters, beautiful landscapes, and captivating birdlife.
   • 9:00 AM – Morning Game Drive
     • Begin your safari adventure with a game drive into the park. Marvel at the dense forests, where you might spot troops of baboons and blue monkeys swinging between trees. Keep your eyes peeled for the park's famous tree-climbing lions, as well as buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and large elephant herds roaming the savannah.
   • 12:00 PM – Picnic Lunch
     • Pause for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the park, ideally near the soda lake. While enjoying your meal, admire the panoramic view of the lake, often dotted with flamingos and other bird species.
   • 1:00 PM – Afternoon Game Drive
     • Continue your exploration with another game drive. Visit the lake shores to witness large flocks of pelicans, storks, and flamingos in their natural habitat. The afternoon is also an excellent time to spot hippos cooling off in the water. Watch for waterbuck, impala, and wildebeest grazing across the plains.
   • 3:30 PM – Visit to Hot Springs
     • Drive toward the park's southern end to the hot springs, also known as "Maji Moto." These geothermal springs bubble up underground, creating small pools with crystal-clear water. The surroundings are peaceful, and this is a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the area's beauty.
   • 4:00 PM – Return to Arusha
     • Begin your return journey to Arusha, reminiscing about the wildlife encounters and the scenic landscapes. The late afternoon light offers a different perspective as you return to the park.
   • 6:30 PM – Arrival in Arusha
     • Arrive in Arusha and be dropped off at your accommodation. This marks the end of a fulfilling day exploring the wonders of Lake Manyara National Park.
